It is never too late to start the process of finishing well. Falling Asleep in the Lap of Delilah is a treasure trove of wisdom on finishing the race of life well.
Facing the final stages of life, career, or ministry can be daunting and instil deep fear, a fear that can cause even the most devout Christian leader to make poor choices, compromise their faith, and damage their legacy. But as Dr Morrison shows, it's never too late to start finishing well.
Morrison's thoughtful insights and powerful meditations on the life of Samson, Israel's notorious strong-man judge, and just how he ended up falling asleep in Delilah's lap, can guide you in preserving your relationship with God and with others, enabling you to finish your race to hear, "Well done, good and faithful servant."

Philip E. Morrison moved to Kenya 25 years ago. As a lecturer at Moffat Bible College, he became passionate about equipping under-resourced pastors who are responsible for multiple congregations. As a result, he founded The Multi-Church Pastor Institute to mentor and train these pastors. He is pursuing a Doctor of Ministry from Africa International University and currently serves with Africa Inland Mission as a Theological Education Consultant. He is the author of five other books, including The Multi-Church Pastor, Questions Pastors Ask, and Conflict Resolution in the Church.
Anyone with his or her eyes open will certainly affirm the urgency of a book on finishing well. I know too many of my age mates whose final years leading up to retirement involve a deteriorating quality of living. There’s a truism found in on gift-shop plaques and posters that says, "Today is the first day of the rest of your life". As Phil skilfully explains, in Christ Jesus, this is not merely a sweet- sounding sentiment, it is 100% true. Because of Jesus, Phil concludes, "Therefore let me encourage you that today is the day you start afresh with the Lord. It is never too late to start the process of finishing well". –George Renner, PhD
